Chapter 15: EUA - Examination Under Anaesthetic
During a sleepover, Toby's feelings are reawakened. Noah's friends learn about his nudism.
Noah attends an EMARP involving a doctor and a physical exam - all he has to do is pretend to be unconscious.
Excerpt one:
Noah noticed that the script didn’t elaborate on the purpose of Noah’s sedation-requiring examination but he doubted the audience cared about this detail.
Looking at the boy, Mr Drummond nearly melted. Noah acted innocent but the doctor rather suspected Noah was not as innocent as he pretended. He saw through the act but it was a well-played facsimile of innocence.
"We're going to use a mixture of midazolam and propofol, do you have any drug allergies that you know of?" asked the doctor.
"No, sir," Noah said.
The "sir" made Mr Drummond smile and Noah wondered where it came from but it seemed appropriate and the respectful form of address imbued the doctor with a formidable authority.
"Lie down, Noah," Mr Drummond said.
Noah lay on his back with his legs stretched out and his arms at his side. For the benefit of the audience, Mr Drummond pretended to administer the aforementioned sedatives. Although syringes were used as props, no needles were inserted into Noah's skin.
"I'll want you to count back from ten but you'll feel sleepy and probably won't reach zero. Count now," Mr Drummond said.
"Ten, nine... eight... seven... ...six... fi... ve... f..." Noah slowed and slurred his speech and the words trailed off.
"You can hear me, Noah?" the doctor asked and Noah mumbled a syllable. "Noah, can you move?"
Noah managed a noise that sounded like "no," and Mr Drummond smiled.
"Good. You're very beautiful Noah... You don't mind if I take a closer look at you, do you?" Mr Drummond asked with a chuckle.
Mr Drummond - or whatever his real name was - played the part of evil doctor very well. He didn't oversell it with a Machiavellian cackle, it was just a self-contented chuckle. It made Noah wonder about what reality could have inspired this scenario - would a health professional really abuse trust and power like this? Of course, Noah could opt out at any time.
"Alright my boy, I'll keep talking so you know everything I'm doing to you," Mr Drummond announced.
Noah remined himself this was fantasy, not reality. Fantasy did not equal approval of reality. Whatever Noah thought of the reality of such a situation, the pretence involved in the scenario was disturbingly arousing. All he had to do was lie there and a sexy man was going to do stuff to him. This is what the word Nifty was invented for.
"I'll start by taking your trainers off," Mr Drummond told him.
