Night of the Giving Head (CH04-07 easter eggs)

All the main characters are named for characters, actors or crew involved in Night of the Living Dead.

Chapter Four
Studio reporters Judith and Kyra are named for Judith O'Dea and Kyra Schon; actors who starred in Night of the Living Dead.
Mr Clelland is named for Sheriff McClelland, a character in Night of the Living Dead.
News reporter Marvin East is a homage to Marilyn Eastman who played Helen in Night of the Living Dead.
Professor Dwane Jones is a homage to Duane Jones who played Ben in Night of the Living Dead.
George chants "one of us, one of us," in reference to the 1932 film Freaks. The chant is used by a group of sideshow performers (considered "freaks" by outsiders) welcome a new member into their fold.

Chapter Five
Chilli says "Let the right one in," in reference to the novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist (and adapted into a film).
Johnny shouts "Heeere’s Johnny!" in reference to Jack Torrance as he breaks down a door in The Shining (movie).
Ben insultingly calls Tom "Tommyknocker," in reference to The Tommyknockers by Stephen King.
Ridley says "I thought you were going to stand by me a little longer," in reference to Stand By Me by Stephen King.
Johnny imagines "a gay orgy human centipede scenario, but without the scatology." The Human Centipede was a body horror series that somehow got three movies.
Cooper and Ky cite the theory that a nuclear rocket/ probe caused the H.M.A.; in Night of the Living Dead, the characters speculate that a space probe returning from Venus brought back a radiation that reanimates the dead, causing a zombie apocalypse.
The subtitle NIGHT JOURNEY is the subtitle of part five of Stephen King's serialised version of The Green Mile.
The twins Bo and Vince are named (the former coincidentally) after Bo and Vincent from The House of Wax (2005).
Timberline Elementary School is named for the location of exterior shots of the Overlook Hotel in The Shining.

Chapter Six
The chapter title, The Last of Us, is a reference to the computer game and TV adaption of the same name.
Johnny says, “Join us! Join us! Join us!” in reference to The Evil Dead.

Chapter Seven
Mr Wakefield is named for A Wakefield Project, a sci-fi horror about a solar flare that caused the dead to rise.
